The Mid-Iowa Council of the Boy Scouts of America was in need of an expanded office and scout center when they turned to Graham Construction. Graham helped guide them through the design and pre-construction phase of a new 24,000 square foot facility. In addition, Graham also helped with fund raising and shepherding the project through their forty-seven member board that all had different visions of what the facility should be.
The completed building is a LEED Certified mixed use building with offices, training rooms and a scout shop. The building occupies a 16 acre site with amenities such as a pond, an outdoor activity area and a 250 seat natural amphitheater with fire pit and the 12 laws of scouting carved in wood timber totems. The building is constructed with an exposed heavy wood timber structure and exposed tongue and groove wood ceilings.
